Physiology faculty pair to deliver hypertension practice talks

​Dr. Frank Spradley, assistant professor of surgery, assistant professor of physiology and biophysics and director of basic science research, and Dr. Erin Taylor, instructor in physiology and biophysics, will give the Department of Physiology and Biophysics Council on Hypertension 2019 Practice Talks from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, in room CW106 of the Classroom Wing.

Spradley will present "Obese Hypertensive Pregnant Rats Have Reduced Placental Growth Factor While Increasing Their Levels Decreases Their Blood Pressure," while Taylor will present "Leptin Accelerates Autoimmune Disease Progression and the Development of Hypertension in an Experimental Model of Systemic Lupus Erythematous."

​Three presentations and a book signing are among the activities slated as part of the Billy S. Guyton History of Medicine Symposium scheduled for Friday, Sept. 6.

Crane and the Determination of Insanity" from 11-11:30 a.m. in room SOM 111; Dr. Ralph Didlake will present "Centenary College of Brandon Springs - Mississippi's First School of Medicine," from 11:30 a.m.-Noon in room SOM 111; Dr. Lucius M.
